How should I report phishing or junk emails that make it to my Inbox?
Reporting the message to Microsoft is the fastest way to mitigate junk and phishing messages.
If you are a current Tridium client and are unsure whether the message you have received is a phishing scam or not, please submit the message to support@tridiumtech.com for further review.
When a message that is clearly phishing or junk is missed by the junk filter and reaches your Microsoft 365 Inbox, the best action to take is to immediately report the message to Microsoft. Microsoft uses the messages that are submitted to the improve their filtering. The message's content, including the sender and sending IP address, will be factored into future analysis. This helps not only your organization, but the global user base.
Unfortunately, manually blocking a particular sender or IP address is not an effective means of stopping phishing from occurring. Threat actors change these identifiers on a regular basis in order to evade email filters and continue to achieve a higher level of success landing their messages into an Inbox. Please do not submit messages that are clearly junk or phishing to our support queue; submit them directly to Microsoft using the instructions below.
How do I submit the message to Microsoft?
Within Outlook and Outlook on the Web, there is a "Report" button in the toolbar. You can also right-click on any message and click on "Report". Messages that are attempting to trick you into providing credentials or taking some sort of action, such as initiating a bank transfer, are "phishing" messages and should be submitted using the "Report Phishing" button. Messages that are simply unwanted, like an unwanted advertisement for a legitimate product, should be submitted using the "Report Junk" button.
